Some airspaces may require you to file for authorization to fly where you're at. Use this app to complete the quick and easy digital authorization required to fly recreationally.
Drone Flying 101
Prior to flying the big drones, there's a bit of training that needs to be done. Contact your regional tech liaison to get properly trained on how to fly the drone. You also need someone at your site to take and complete The Recreational UAS Safety Test (TRUST) before you can legally operate the drone with or without students. This free, online course would be great to be completed together with the students prior to flying the drone solo.
In order to fly the drone legally, these two things must be present at the time of flying:
1. The IMEP FAA registration written or tagged on the outside of the drone. (If this is missing, please contact your regional tech liaison)
2. The pilot should have their TRUST certificate.
